NTL Problems??

Hi

Is anyone else on this board having problems with their NTL digibox service?? Ours was off for a few days, is now back on, but some of the channels keep freezing/going off???

Any tips to help fix this??

Is it the +1 channels that are freezing?

No. Most of em are. Including BBC/ITV etc. They either freeze or the screen goes blank.....?

chorus is okay. i've never had any issues with it

I too have had experience of Chorus. Avoid like the plague.

Chorus and NTL are both owned by the same crowd these days iirc.

I think discussion of Chorus/ NTL/ UPC etc etc takes place in the Tech forums (Cable and Digital TV) rather than here, which is to discuss programming.

It's now 10 days since I logged my original post on here about the NTL problems, and they are still happening.

I came in from work this evening and the tv was working fine, but later in the evening(during the Liverpool match) the bloody thing started acting up again:mad:!!!!???

I phoned up NTL - who were meant to send someone out YESTERDAY to have a look at it, but this never materialised. They then said that someone would be out today, but again, this didn't happen. They now say that someone will be out on Thursday morning to have a look at it. If it's not fixed this time, I will be strongly advising my father to get rid of the box. It seems to be a complete waste of money.

I'm having the same problem with NTL Channels. Basically most of the channels are blank. Its the Digital Select package. All for the following channels are supposed to be activated with the package:

BBC 1, BBC 2, UTV, cHANNEL 4, E4+1, sKY 1, sKY 2, bbc 3, bbc 4
, mORE 4 & +1, fILM 4, mgm, uktv, mtv, TMF.

All NTL keep telling me is to go to help --> restart after pluging out the box.
DOes anyone have any decent trouble-shooting guidelines apart from the plug-in plug-out cr@p.

I have to restart my digibox at least twice a week. It's getting crazy they have to be fixing this.

The other thing that is incredibly annoying is the guide. If I want to use this function I have to turn it on and then maybe do my dishes come back to it and it might be on. I say it takes about 5 minutes. What's with that???

I have basic NTL can receive all channels except for BBC2.What's the problem?

ntl digital is lacklustre to put it lightly. as another poster said, switch to sky. they have a much superior service thanks hugely to the fact that it uses a satellite dish to recieve the channel, which in my experience is flawless as opposed to the many reception problems i've heard from others i know on ntl digital
