Sort Code details for Tesco Visa & ESB please?

    Hi Guys,
    Setting up my online banking with halifax and trying to find the proper sort codes for Tesco Visa and ESB - think I have ESB, but tesco helpline insist on giving me the usual six digit preceeded by eight zero's, surely this isn't right?
    can any shed any light? Thanks in advance

    That sounds like an IBAN number they are giving you.

    I had a tesco visa card and i'm with AIB, I just gave AIB the card number and they were able to set it up on online banking.

    Sorted through halifax - it appears the sort code on the credit card statement doesn't work for online transfers - sounds a bit funny - but he gave me a new sort code and alls well. thanks
