    Hey all,
do paints for different models or manufacturers vary in cost when it comes to respray time?
like, if i wanted to respray my mk2 golf, would it be cheaper to use say [for arguments sake] Ford paint rather than VW paint?
    cheers, Will

    No.
There's no such a thing like VW or Ford or Toyota paint. Yes, those colour mixes are done for particular car manufacturer, but in general, paint itself is supplied by paint manufacturer, ie Sikkens, PPG, Glasurit...
And any body repair shop should be able to mix most of these colours.

You can get cheaper or dearer paint from different manufacturers/brands, for example you'd pay more for PPG paint than when you get the same colour mixed from U-Pool.
Next thing is respray could be cheaper when is solid paint used instead of metallic. Less labour.
