    Total n00b at pc stuff.
    I have Irish Broadband 2Mb breeze coming into my house via an ethernet wire.
    All the routers I see are for phone lines(I think, not really sure what to look for).
    Am not sure what router to get, but has to be compatible with xbox live.

    Could you suggest a router that suits my situation?

    In Argos or www.komplett.ie
    Ethernet WAN router, Argos call them Cable Routers.
    You are quite right, avoid one with built in ADSL modem.

    Netgear, Zyxel, Linksys (Cisco), Dlink all do them.
