First Macro for C&C

I finally stopped dithering today and bought the Canon 100mm Macro lens in town. Anyway, here's my first attempt at proper macro photography ( I think it's proper anyway!).
I was hampered by the fact that my two flashes had zero battery power, so it's natural light.
What am I doing wrong, right, not doing???

    Thanks

It's nice, what I find is you take the shots and there's always little issues you find afterwards with the subject (nature isn't quite as perfect or symmetrical as we'd like!), personally I'd love to see this with a bit of a vertical angle, as then you'll see the stamen and petals protruding that bit better.
I presume you've adjusted the levels (shadows) in post-processing to blacken the background or is that as taken?
Unfortunaly I can't offer too much advice as I'm only a beginner :)

Thanks Kali. it was taken against a black card background, but it was processed to blacken it a bit further. I would do a different crop to show the petals at th edge had I captured them in teh first place :o

It’s a bit dark (underexposed), but composition-wise I like it!
