    Hi Liam,

General question here, what's the difference between that and Sayoc Kali?

    Hi Jon

To be honest I havnt really study Sayoc Kali so it be very hard for me to explain the difference, maybe some one like Dave could answer that better. I think they have alot similar concepts, as at the end of the day, there are only so many things you can do with the human body. This style of Silat is Berantai and along with Guyong Harimau were the two style that Jak taught in Ireland.

Best of luck Jon with your weekend seminar, I'm completely overrun with work at the moment, but please keep me in mind, for future events, maybe we can organised something together as I have access to venues on the south side, and can help you out if you get stuck

    All the best.

    Liam

Hi guys, sorry for the delay in replying but I've been up to my eyes the last few days and only catching up now, what training with Guro Krishna in Dublin on Sunday, running a new Introductory Thai course and clubs day was in NUIG yesterday along with teaching all the regular classes.

Jon, Jak Othman is a respected Silat instructor, but he doesn't train in FMA or Kali, and trying to compere Silat knife with Kali (or say Thai knife) is like comparing apples and oranges. If you search youtube you'll find lots of clips on Sayoc or better still come along to one of our Dublin meets and we'll let you see our way of training knife.

Thanks very much Dave, Lee Morrison (www.urbancombatives.com) speaks highly of Sayoc Kali. I'll do a bit of research on it.

    Thanks again :)

Just drop me your address in PM and I put in the post for you. This is one of the styles of knife training I've have study in the past.
