I am finally fed up of buying guitar cables all the time.
I use Planet Waves all the time....even the best break eventually.

I have now decided i am going to make my own and repair them too.

Where do i start.....where can i buy the gear...cables, jacks and solder yoke.
Can i get the gear from thomann.de

Do your Planet cables last that long or are getting new ones when they break?

they've lasted this long and still in perfect working condition, just gota wrap your cable up safely and correctly after you use them and they'll last for a very long time, i tried repairing old cables before but its just hassle, leave it to the professionals to do it 100% correct!

    hi guys
im new to this boards thing,
if you get a length of three pin cable, use 2 and use the other one if it is damaged.9 times out of ten there is a break in the cable but it would be only one so you have the earth to use, just connect where the old one was and you should be fine.
    hope this helps.
    cheers danny;)
plus its stronger than any guitar cable.

The cordial CMK 222 cable from Thomann is good multipurpose cable. I use it for instrument cables and mic leads. You can also get Neutrik jacks from Thomann. I'd suggest getting some of the cheaper connectors as well to practice on. You'll probably destroy a few as you're figuring it out.

A 25 watt iron is fine for lead connectors. I use an Antex 25 watt that I bought in Maplin. They also sell solder.
