Nonsense, quality film.
Big fan of Kevin Bacon.

Loved that scence in the car park when they zoom between different levels. I'm not sure how many minutes that lasted without a take but I was very impressed.

I really liked it. Its not going to win any oscars, but it was dark as hell in places and very compelling. If they'd put a no-name actor in Kevin Bacon's place, it would have suffered. He really carried the movie.

The ending was a bit different too.... "Are you ready?"

For anyone interested, the song used (twice) to good effect was Alright by a band called Pilate.

I thought this film was brilliant tbh. A brilliant return to the big screen for Kevin Bacon, and as a previous poster said it really wouldn't have worked without him.

I've seen some people complain that it is totally over the top and unbelievable but that is total bs to be honest. To sum up:

Gang member kills Bacon's son as an initiation into said gang. Bacon fails at going back to his daily office job routine due to emotional breakdown and constant flashbacks of his sons murder. Bacon is told by his defence that the gang member will only receive 5 years max in prison as Bacon is the only witness to the murder. Bacon enters the court to testify, then lies when asked if he recognises the gang member. Bacon instead decides to kill this gang member and although it gets messy, he succeeds in doing so. Gang leader is slightly smarter than Bacon thought. This, coupled with the fact that the now dead gang member that killed Bacon's son was also the Gang leaders brother sends him on a rampage to put Bacon, his wife and remaining second son six feet under. Bacon is left with no other choice than to(at first) try to defend his family and eventually kill off the entire gang.

I found the story totally believable and was able to associate with Bacon's character completely. What would you do if you were a father and you witnessed the gruesome murder of your son? The only point from the many comments on that Rotten Tomatoes review that holds any water (imo) is the fact that there are some points in the film where the soundtrack seems a bit out of place for whats going on. If you can ignore this fact and want to see a good revenge film with plenty of action, then go see this film asap.

I liked it.
i realyl enjoyed watching it...regardless of wether it's a good movie or not....which I will admit is arguable.

I was also satisfied with the unexpected direction the plot took.
I was expecting your generic good guy turned bad guy killer with Bacon killing the gang off one by one untill a final show down with the leader in which they both die...showing us that while the revenge was awesome, it wasn't the answer etc,... etc...

The directing I thought was great and as someone already said, the car park scene was amazing. As I've spouted a million times, I'm a big fan of Saw and there were alot of familiar elements, (even a cameo by the manequin) which were nice to see.

The middle of the film carried a strange change in tone but like I said, I really enjoyed it.

Though I think yesterday was it's last day of release.
