Okay so basically, for homwork tonight, i have been asked a tricky english question concerning the poetry of John Montague. Speciffically it is the poem called The Trout....

"Montague has often described searching for poetic inspiration to the activity of snaring a fish from a river bank. Do you think the catching of the trout could serve as a metaphor for the art of poetic creation."

Could anyone rephrase that question or possibly suggest an answer?

    Any help would be appreciated...

    Thanks

I'm not using/haven't read that poem, but I think the gist of the question is:
"Do you think the catching of the trout could serve as a metaphor for the art of poetic creation?"
As in, "How is catching a trout similar to writing a poem?" Or perhaps "How is catching a trout similar to thinking up a poem to write?"
