    if you get a minute...

on rsov they have the full metal 'Cyma' AKS74U (CM035). i am assuming this is rebadged unicorn one...not a big ak person but this looks cool and they have the full wood (settle, settle, there at the back!) for it also...

also i would love to do this (cant remember if i posted this before as i am getting old) but goto wgcshop and search for ZOMBIE

    priceless...

No it's not a rebranded Unicorn. The Unicorn is a copy of VFC and Inokatsu. The CYMA is a build of there own, it has an alloy body where Unicorn has stamped steel. The CYMA isn't bad for it's very low price but Unicorn is better then it and the Dboys one coming soon.

wow i just assumed it was the same since they came out at them same time...well a choice of 2...gunner has the unicorn one in stock...if that ak itch isnt scratched yet

edit 3...dboys...jeasus famine or feast for the cqb akers...

Tell me about it, clones are like buses, 3 come at once :p The Unicorn is a gunners exclusive it comes as a kit from the factory, just the body. Fung is building them with a CYMA gearbox and a 6.04mm tightbore barrel. Firing about 1 joule with a .20 BB.

Pity tis a 74. My next purchase (if the military AUG does not come in)
that I would like is a full metal AK47 with full stock. And maybe just maybe
a real wood kit. But dunno what brands are our there.

Wait for a little while Bullets. Unicorn are cloning the Inokatsu AKM next ( the 1950's updated AK47) should be out soon. It'll also have stamped steel construction and real wood furniture ;)

Mmm great info tonight guys, thanks. Stamped steel sounds great.
I know for legal reasons airsofts need to be made with low melting
point alloys (which are usually brittle) and non-strong plastics etc
which is very annoying but stamped steel sounds great.

Why am I getting slowly more depressed that I am getting these
wonderful pieces of pure joy and the amount of AEG's is building
up yet I have no place local to even try a skirmish! All I seem to be
doing is fireing a few shots out my back garden when the neighbours
    are not around.

Fortunatly you can stay within that law by having certain parts not high grade steel. For example the Unicorns outer barrel would rupture if you tried to fire a bullet through it. The trunnion points couldn't take it either so they can't be converted to firearms, win! :D

    135 dollars and around 70 shipping...not bad...looks cool...

I ordered 3 for my team but I might just strap all 3 together and use them myself :p

Yeah for $200 all in you can't go wrong for the quality you're getting.

EDIT: Actually...if there is, post on the Eirsoft thread. Dont want to clutter up the rest of the forum.

    Initial reports on quality seem to go in this order;

Unicorn AKs74UN , Very high quality, almost completly stamped steel, Inokatsu copy. Optic mount, Oak furniture, Mid-cap mag.

Dboys AKs74UN , good quality, about 60-70% stamped steel with some alloy. Optic mount, Wooden furniture (plywood?) High-cap mag.

CYMA AKs74U , not bad quality, stamped steel receiver and a lot of alloy. Wooden furniture (Plywood?) High-cap mag.

Prices reflect the build level, Unicorn being the most expensive then Dboys and CYMA lowest.

Unicorn is using a CYMA gearbox with a 6.04 tightbore barrel and TM compatable hop-up (Element?) CYMA is using a CYMA gearbox of course, no word on if it has a tightbore or not. No word yet either on what the Dboys gearbox is like.
