M14 fire selector and battery drainage

Right. Got my M14 from Shiva today. Will write up a review
tomorrow when I have the light to take some pics.
I have a few words written review wise on eirsoft.ie but no pics.

(I am Shocked and stunned the M14 AEG is heavier than my Real steel Heavy Barrel Rifle)

Amazingly accurate after fireing a few shots out the back at
a plastic bottle. The BB's go where you want them to.

The fire selector switch is weird and I dont trust it.
it only allows you to select between semi and auto but
there is no safe option. Its unlike any selector switch
I have seen on any of my AEG's so far.

My question is............will the Battery be slowly drained if its
set to semi or auto while not in use ?

I thought I read someplace before where some AEG's would
have the battery drained if they were not set to safe even if
    you were not using it.

The safety is on the trigger guard.

AAAAhhhhh Sweet thanks for that bit of info.
I was wondering what that bit was for and had not thought
to push or fiddle with it.

Yeah it stumps most people when they first get one. I have to say I'm a bit of a fan of the M14 myself. That huge clunk you get from the bolt makes it all worth while :D

is it an agm...just make sure to fully select auto or single...some have a weak fire selector switch and if it not fully engaged, it can snap and you loose single shot....actually it might also be the same for the kart, cant quite remember. i used mine a while back for a round or 2 in hrta..

its heavy and friggen awkard...but it is a thing of beauty...

final word of advice...dont buy the midcaps from rsov...they are total and utter pants....just returned mine to rsov after a terabyte of emails stating they didnt work

    Yep its AGM.

yeah the whole it will fire while in the in between mode is scary.

No interest in full auto for this baby single fire all the way for it.
I love the trigger on this. Its a heavy trigger pull just like a real
military rifle. Full auto on this would be a sin.

The AGM has its faults but its only kick started the urge to
eventually long term to get a better brand and real wood stock.

I want midcaps was waiting for Shiva to get some in before I ordered any
along with AUG mags, FN mags, M4, mags and GBB mags.

When one of my team got his I think I pulled it back and let it go about 30 times in a row. Got some strange looks for that :p

Make sure you turn the fire selector all the way when switching between semi- and full-auto. Having got one myself last week, I did a good bit of reading on them. Supposedly a common problem is people losing the ability to fire semi-auto if they fire when the selector is only half-turned.

As for mid-caps, you can get the King Arms plastic ones from ehobby asia, but you'll have to do a bit of filing to make them fit the AGM.
