camping glendalough

    i'm thinking of going camping this weekend in glendalough is that allowed and if its not where is a place that is allowed that is a place you can get to by bus from dublin...

    also is there any website you can go to get a free map of that particular area

    It's allowed by all rights in Glendalough, think it's fairly unregulated in terms or maps etc of where to camp too.

    There was a thread in After Hours i think about places on a bus route to camp out, i did though in a place very near Rathdrum in Co. Wicklow, beside a bus route, Bus Eirinn like.

    You're not allowed to camp down on the public lawns beside the upper lake - you'll get moved on in the morning. You'll be ok if you find somewhere more discreet. Don't forget to leave the place the way you found it or better!

    Just in town today, and if you go to Dawson Street directly across the road from the Mansion House there's a bus which goes to Glenalough.;)
