why don't you ring up all 3 and tell your exact details and get the best price, theres no offers out there but vhi is probably the dearest with other 2 on a par.

Yes- it really depends on what you are looking for.
For low levels of cover Quinn Heathcare are probably best, closely followed by Vivas with the VHI a good deal more expensive. If you look at the more comprehensive packages- the VHI becomes a lot more reasonable (but still not cheap). What level of cover do you need?

Something to keep in mind- this is tax deductable- so make sure you keep all the receipts for your Med 1 at the end of the year.

afaik, you get your tax deducted at source for health insurance and anything you putinto the med 1 cannot already be used to claim against vhi etc?

The OP is leaving his current employment (who are paying his health insurance at present) and is looking for health insurance for him and his wife. I think he is paying for this seperately himself- he doesn't clarify. Obviously you cannot get tax relief on the same expense twice.

Vivas are generally the cheapest - perhaps the others are better value if you're going for the top-end packages, but if you're young and in good health, then health insurance is largely dead money and you're as well going for the cheapest option.

Yes i guess vivas or Quin will be my best bet.

Have a look at the Health Insurance Authority of Ireland for your legal entitlements.
