Yes, it's fine, just make sure to have a bright, plain background, even tho it's not a rule they have written, they will tell you to re-take it if it's too dark a background.

It's normally easier to just use colour seeing as you'd get them in a photobooth, but you're safe to use B+W if you already have them.

Ah, I could be wrong but all the new passport photos with chips now use black and white photos, least anybodys I've seen in the last few months

Colour is still acceptable as far as I know but black and white is recommended as that is what will be printed.

Yep, colour is fine. I just got a new passport a couple of weeks ago and sent in colour photos which were printed in B & W on the passport. They are extremely fussy about size, facial expression etc. these days so make sure that you use the guidelines they provide with the passport app form.

Yes, and apparently if your teeth are on view you look like one (photos were sent back because teeth were visible)

Anyone know what the guidelines are? Was considering doing a home job as I always look like a Muppet in the ones I get done in booths or chemists

guidelines here. I did it myself for me and my family, got the prints from photobox. I think they charge about 3.50 (incl postage) for 8 passport photos

I use this the whole time. Costs about €7 to download. Excellent quality. Does US, EU, etc. Very easy to use.

did my own - motorcycle license and passport also did my son's pic - photoshop helps a lot with the stipulations they have regarding the height and aspect etc. of the photograph.
I'm thinking the photo-booth solution may noth always come up to the required standard every time these days!!!
I was thinking of making an overlay template that you could drop into photoshop as a layer emulating the one on the passport form, never got around to doing it tho!

also did a passport for the grandson he was 6 months old, - good likeness to winston churchill

    :)

Colour photos are fine. I sent in a colour photo and when my passport came back it was in black & white. They are sooooo fussy about the photo though....dont even think about smiling or putting lip gloss on! They sent my photo back about 3 times because my chin was too low in the photo.......lepars.
