Quickly Diminishing Connectivity

My Girlfriends laptop is acting the bollocks.

The internet connection works fine for a brief period of time and I can ping everything in the house and beyond.

Then after a few minutes, http access drops, I can't ping anything, but I can still access sites using the https protocol.

The after an equally short and random amount of time the https sites refuse to load and a reboot is required to restore any connection.

All other devices connected to the network continue to function through the debacle and it occurs no matter what ethernet device I use (wireless, usb or wired).

I turned off the windows firewall and got no joy.

    Any suggestions?

I think its best to backup all data and reinstall windows and all the drivers. It will be the quickets method then trying the 101 possible solutions for this problem. atleast if you reinstall and the problem still persists then it is a hardware issue.
