I'm allowed get a kit for my birthday so I'm happy bout that. Condition is its a digital kit!! Anyway i'm currently getting lessons and I'm really enjoying it, so I was thinking I'D be better spending bit of money than buygin something cheap that won't last.
    Whats the thoughts on this:

    Or this:

I'm not sure what to go for at all , but i do know this . i've about 600 - 800 euro to spend and i want to get something that will last. i want a normal kit, but due to noise etc, i've to go for digital.

if anyone can help me, i'd appreciate this.

    tks

    hen

i don't know much about electric drums but boss/roland make some excellent stuff... i play guitar and my pedalboard is nearly all boss stuff...i gig regularly and it's lasted for years.... very robust, good quality....i would also shop around on the net..i have dealt with thomann on a few occasions with no problems...the gear was door to door in 4/5 days and excatly as promised....if i can find fault with them over anything i emailed them a couple of times lately about some other stuff and they never got back to me...but it's free shipping with anything over 199 euro, our drummer tried out the kit of roland v drums(pro model) in musicmaker and they sounded amazing.....but i personally refuse to pay the rip off prices that these music shops in ireland charge anymore.....i can't understand how some of them are even still in business......plus the bull**** patronizing attitude of some of the staff i had to put up with when we had no other options in dublin years ago.......

Supposedly fairly low noise from this kit as you have no bass drum to connect with, the sound module reacts to how heavy or light you press down on the pedal. Handy if volume is your main issue.

i tried out the HD1 in waltons ... -they have one set up there, you should go and try it ... ... I've been playing a long while but recently moved into apartment so was looking to get something digital re the sound (like you) ... I found the HD1... well small ! and it is most definitely an entry level kit. you cant add more gear if you decide to upgrade ... the sounds on the kit are allright ..

For me i would like pads that have 2 zones/ dual trigger (2 sounds from diff zones - re rim shots etc) . a sound module / drum brain that has more options...

if you do go and try it out, try out thier other roland digi kits too and you will hear/see the difference (and the difference in price) ... for your money i'd keep an eye out for a second hand roland, with mesh heads (at least on the snare)...

come to think of now, perfect pitch have a millennium-esque kit set up ... go and try that too

check out www.drumshed.eu this guy is a teacher who uses digi kits to teach... he's a friendly guy and should be able to give you some more advice
