Dont bother getting a alienware pc. They are just dell pc's with a hefty price tag. www.voodoopc.co.uk do some absolutly mind blowing stuff. And HP are now getting big into gaming pc's as they own voodoopc. Not sure if the HP are publicly available yet though.

another one you could have a look at is http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/ . Haven't bought from them myself but they have a lot more configuration options than you'll find on Alienware for a fraction of the price. Alienware are way overpriced imo. Do a comparision configuration between the 2 and you'll see what I mean.

Nice specs but I suspect going from 2GB to 4GB cost him an extra €500.

Damn, I didn't think it would work out that much cheaper.

Yeah, its a bit of a rip off alright. And the worst thing is, the battery life on that alienware laptop will be about 45mins. I dont get people who ponce about with stupidly expensive laptops. They arnt portable at all, as you have to plug them into the wall where ever you go. You could build a much higher spec pc for 1/3rd of the price.

They're more portable than a desktop. I had a desktop in second year and while it was great, the laptop I have now is far handier. If I go into college and need to do something, whip out the laptop and away you go. On the train I can watch videos. If I go to one of my friends houses and we decided to play a lan game, I don't need to lug a desktop over.

Correct on one part (had to get something out of them). It has 2GB ram in it.

I wouldn't mind buying a couple of 2GB modules though.

I could have sworn you said you managed to get them to pay for 4GB without them knowing about it. Ah well you still got a €2800 laptop for nowt.
