The game is on Green Joker Poker. its the satellite to the booze up and Charity event.

    Did I donk these hands?

The following are 2 hands I had early in the charity satelite.

    It is 6 handed.

    I am UTG with AdJs

    Blinds are 20 40

    I bet 120

Flush draw is next to act he raises to 320( I assume he has a decent hand)

it folds to me I call.( right move?)

    Flop comes

    9c3cJh

    I bet 560( right move?)

    Flushdraw folds

Its 6 handed In the Satelite for the Padraig Parkinson.

    Blinds are 20 40.

I am UTG and get 8d8c

Next to act FlushDraw calls. it folds to sb who calls. BB call.

    Flop comes

    8s7s4c

It checks to me and I bet 360( right move?)

    Flushdraw calls.

    Turn comes 2 d. I go all-in.( right Move?)

    flush draw folds.

Should I have played these differently..

I dont think theres much room for strategy here but i wouldnt have lead for so much on the flop with the AJ. I thought you had KJ as i said and i folded

The 2nd one, i forget what i had, i'll look for the HH

    Stack sizes usually help

Indeed they do. we started with 2k and I have about 1.5-1.7 due to hitting the wrong button on first hand.

Flushdraw has me covered as far as I recall.

Heres the HH from both hands.

If i was you i fold AJ to a reraise PF that early on OOP

The 2nd hand, i put you on AK cbet and if you check the turn, i make a move but i'm never calling your push here

Ouch on first hand, better to be lucky than to be good.

on the 2nd do you think I should have checked to you?

The draws scared me and I was happy to take what I could and live to fight another day?

In hand 2 you have top set. Unless he has flopped a straight the worst holding he could have from your point of view is 9sTs. This would give him 13 outs or approx 2.4-1 dog. If this were his holding and he knew your cards he should still call your turn shove. There is no way you are going to end up folding top set on the river..is there? So you want to get value from it. So I'd just bet 400-600 on the turn

i check the turn sometimes in 2 if i think he'll float. otherwise what can you do if he didnt hit.

u played the first hand horrendously and the 2nd hand fine.

first, full ring small blinds, opening with AJ is poor, calling a re raise from a decent player is awful, and leading the flop is also pretty poor.

as played pre flop(not too good imo-see nickys post), id check flop and then re-raise and take it down. 90% of the time tony will CB there

hand2 i wouldnt check turn, and as we saw tonys hand i guess he may have taken the free card and folded river - but regardless of the results a bet of 500/600 would prob have gotten you a call

Thanks for that, AJ is one of those hands that sometimes gets me into trouble. It looks so nice but......

mmm it dawns on me that its not so much the hand I need to work on but playing the postion itself.

On the area of pairs that hit the set. I have been tending to see all sorts of hadsn apperaif and beating me so I try and win the pot there and then. I suppose i need to go looking for value in these situations.

As usual all the advice is appreciated. It is interesting that so much can be learnt for hands that you win with, more so it seems thatn those you lose with.

I find this hard to believe, I think it should be very standard. Agree with the rest of the post.

    Hand 1.

I dont mind raising in EP providing you can let it go to serious heat, which you should have PF. Before FD posted i was going to say you probably outflopped his AK, once he re-raises it's an insta dump. His range has AJ crushed here alot of the time.

Hand 2 is fine, you could maybe check the turn to him, you might induce action from him but there alot of scare cards that could hit the river that you don't want to see if he takes a free card.

Opening AJ UTG 6 handed is super standard. Calling the raise is bad.
