    Hi,

Been an atb guy forever still cling to my giant escaper.....thing is just picked up a trek road racer (entry level) for a triathlon on saturday. Problem is cant figure out the bontrager / taigra gear shift. It's small one way trigger system managed to get down the gears alright but can't figure out how to get back up! any help greatly appreciated. Aside, what's the average time for an olympic tri cycle????

    Thanks

Push the entire brake lever towards the opposite lever (you should hear or feel a small click) and that will shift up.

Average time depends on your level, if its 40k, then a really good rider won't go far past an hour (an very strong rider, below). But if you are starting out, 1hr 20 - 1:30 would be reasonable depending on hills and wind I reckon. If its your first tri, any time that gets you to the finish is good enough !!
