It's fairly urgent. I'm applying for a visa, and want to get it sent off quickly. I have to include a self addressed envelope so they can send the visa out to me from London.

I went into the GPO today and asked the guy for them.
    He said:
"Can I use bad language in my answer?"
    "Go ahead"
"You're ****ed. An Post stopped doing them two years ago. We're the only country in the world that doesn't do them."

He said there might be the odd PO that might have them, they might have some left over.

So does anybody know any of these odd post offices?

I'm trying to weigh up my options if I can't get one. I may have to just send cash with a nice little note, but I know they frown upon receiving cash and it could really delay my application. Or I may have to go up to the border quickly and get one there. Just to confirm, they do them in the North, right?

Could you get a friend or someone to get one from the North for you?

    Try posting this on boards.org.uk.
Someone there might be able to sort you out.

I think I'm gonna head on up to Newry on the train tomorrow and get them there. It's only €20.

Thanks for the replies anyway, folks :)

I have one and I can post it to you. You will have to post me a fifty euro note first of all. To show me you mean business.

Include a sterling draft that covers the cost of the postage from UK to Ireland.

I presume her majesty's p.o. will send them here. After the An Post experience, I'm willing to try anything.

Royal Mail online shop does deliver to non UK address, around 1.55stg charge

search doesnt seem to work on their site, but you could ask if
