The Sept. 11th attacks on New York attacks have been rightly described as " a crime against humanity " and denounced by governments worldwide and by the mainstream media as inhuman and barbaric. Though the US and the much of the west has been directly and indirectly responcible for vastly greater deaths in the middle east, there is still no justification whatsoever for the attacks on New York.

However what has been efffectively swept under the carpet is the 'other' Sept 11th, the coup d'état of 1973 against the democraticly elected govt. of Chile organised by the CIA under the name Project FUBELT resulted in the torture and deaths of many more thousands of people than in New York. How often do we hear the expression " Never again", but when it is carried out at the behest of the US and the west, apart form a few left wing politicans and journalists, the best we get is " an expression of concern" and then carry on as if nothing ever happened. No calls for war on Western terrorism  It should be noted, his lovelyness and Holiness Pope john paul the 2nd opposed the extradition of Pinochet to Spain citing something like he's an old man now, his health is poor and ah, sure, he really wasn't such a bad guy, whatever

Another CIA success story and another reason for the Americans being welcomed with open arms, wherever they go. The US government kept a very low profile when all of the extradition troubles were going on, hoping that their putting the psycho-fascist in power would be forgotten.

Thank you. I'm ashamed to say that this year that anniversary had slipped my mind.

It should also be noted that besides his lovelyness and Holiness Pope john paul the 2nd, Pinochet also received support form another humane democrat - Baroness Thatcher, Lady of the Most Noble Order of the Garter. Birds of a feather would you agree ?

Snatcher had to say " I'm also very much aware that it is you who brought democracy to Chile, you set up a constitution suitable for democracy, you put it into effect, elections were held, and then, in accordance with the result, you stepped down." God knows as bad as Blair and his cronies are, they were'nt a patch on Snatcher, ( whose medically been deemed demented these days - as she ever wasn't  ).

when you see the grip the Unions has on some parts of this and other countries, maybe she wasn't all bad.

Her actions regarding Pinochet though were shameful but I do think by that time she sha had started to loose her marbles.

Mad Maggie will be meeting Pinochet again in a very hot place, although I can't predict when.
