This episode was not liked at all by most posters/voters here but i re-watched it there the other nite and i really enjoyed it. I thought it was alright/good the first time i think the word i used was necessary.

Anyway i was just posting to see if anyone would re-watch that episode and see how they feel about it

I haven't really disliked many episodes of battlestar, except black market....good god i hated that.

I think people got a little whiny last season because there were a lot fo stories fleshing out characters, filler i suppose, that weren't directly linked to the storyline...i enjoyed them though,

Yep, have always liked that one myself.Rewatch it you say...:D Oh well if you insist!

I liked the way Adama kicked the sh1t out of the Chief for no reason at all!:D

Eh... it wasn't for no reason at all, and it was Adama who got cained.

I'll have to rewatch the episode sometime to decide fully but as I recall it had good parts (Chief vs Adama) and bad parts (anything involving Apollo and Starbuck together).

Honestly, hands down the worst episode of the new BSG IMO. I felt robbed of 44 minutes. I've seen better episodes of barney.

I enjoyed watching it again, the music adds to it.

You see when you re-watch it you have no expetations and you get to just sit back and enjoy the episode for what it is, BSG and it is a good episode, They all are

I thought Black Market was pretty bad, defo the worst of the new bsg-it had twists that were unnessacery, espically the death and the reasoning for the hostage taking, and the lee/dee thing pissed me off.

Season 3 [im on about ep 13 o dvd] has been very character driven-although it has not forsaken its plot.Bsg is truely becoming this generations Babylon 5.This is the best season so far imo.
The Boxing ep was fantastic-It not only furthered the Lee/Kara storyline, but also gave the older Adama a chance to vent his frustration at the position he holds.

i actually really enjoyed both 'black market' and 'the dance' episodes, there was much worse filler like the episode with star clusters with that chick that was on starbuck's back thew whole time, pure shiat entirely!

Watched it again today, and it is actually pretty good apart from the Starbuck/Apollo scene at the end. The back-story stuff is great as is the boxing between Adama and the Chief. Plus it has got cult hero Hotdog challenging Starbuck and getting KO'ed in record time. Awesome.

Better than the four episodes that precede Maelstrom, anyway.

Loved boxing match. Just watched Maelstrom, took me 3 months to gather the will to watch it after the dreary previous episodes.

The boxing episode was crappy because look at Starbuck and look at Apollo, there's no way she'd last a minute against him

    Are you sure?

Yeah she's in good shape, but she's not exactly a power house of muscle, whereas Apollo pretty much is, plus he's a guy so it really doesnt make a whole lot of sense.

I'd rather claw my eyes out than watch it again.
Easily the worst episode of BSG from any series.
I'm sure they could sell it to insomniacs.

Yeah not my favourite episode of BSG. The 3rd season had some fairly weak (by BSG standards) episodes in the middle of the season IMO. These were mainly character driven episodes rather than episodes concentrating on the main plot. Some worked better than others.

Yeah I agree, all the epiosodes of BSG are amazing except for Black market...it was complete dirt, I also hated the one with bulldog!

But the boxing one was amazing, almost as good as the season 1 finale :D

I liked the boxing episode. It was well made with good music and an interesting look at the grudges and tension that can develop between a crew after extended periods.

Though black market was abit ****e alright but I did think lee gettin kicked in the head while he had chickenwire wrapped around his neck was fantastic.

In regards to the boxing episode I though it was fairly enjoyble episode and that
actors put on a good preformance all round.

Bsg is truely becoming this generations Babylon 5.

Indeed, truly "The Boxing Episode" is there with the great Babylon 5 classics like "TKO", "Walkabout" and "Grey 17 is missing".

Just watched The Dance for the first time and I thought it was brilliant. All the bit's between Lee and Kara (except for the fight itself) were great. The bit with Adama and the Chief started out good but Adama should have kicked his ass!
The misic really suited it as well.

thought " the dance " episode was excellent ,a lot better than some of the other eps of the third series , filled in a lot of details about lee / kara relationship .

in case anyone was wondering the song from the ep was

    "violence and variations "

would defo agree with some of the opinions on the ep " black market "
complete cack seen it twice hated it even more the second time

Bsg is truly becoming this generations Babylon 5.

Look, i know the last season had a few less than stellar episodes, but lets not be saying things we can't take back. :)

But yeah, i don't put alot of stock in the flak BSG got last season.
No matter the show, there are always some people just start to scream about the show having gotten worse since season one.
It usually just that the honeymoon is over and people aren't prepared to give the same leeway as they did before.
It makes me sad sometimes, especially when people get indignant as if they show they are stealing via the internet somehow owes them something and the drop in quality that only they see is some kind of a slap to the face.

But anyway, i digress, i liked this episode the first time round, and still did on second viewing.
Black Market was mildly interesting at best, but probably deserves the title of "worst episode of BSG" more than The Dance.

Actually for most of my favourite sci-fi shows, I've regarded Season 1 as the warmup period and Seasons 2&3 as the point where the show really hit its stride. I'm not indignant, but Season 3 of BSG sucked donkey balls.

That view you give on how sci fi shows pan out is every true for B5, but find it every innacturate for bsg!

Personally I thought the next episode about Kat (The Passage). At least you could tell what they were on about in the boxing episode. I will admit that a lot of the scenes on the planet were very cheesy. Particularly the dancing and shouting naked at the moon.
