$2/4 nlhe. been on the table about 40 minutes.

im playing aggressively. 3/betting more than anyone else on the table but not doing anything that crazy or outta line postflop. double barreled a 56TK board and c/folded J river about 15 minutes previous to this hand.

havent played in forever on this site but remembered villian to be decent taggish reg. he's playing ok so far but is kinda spewey. makes these weird small blocker bets when he's oop and the board gets dangerous. donks into the pfr oop a lot too. other than that pretty solid.

he's built from $550 to about $730 since i sat down. i cover after flush over flushing a guy for a pretty big pot.

anyways he raises in the c/o to 12. i call otb with KQc.

    flop: A89 with 89c. (pot $30)

he bets 22, i make it 65, he calls.

    turn: 5s. (pot $160)

he checks, i bet 135, he calls.

    river: Td. (pot $420)

    he checks, i shove.

there's about $945 in the pot and hes got about $525 left.

not really sure whether i like this or not. id play a set like this close to 100% of the time. plus other hands i was semi bluffing like 67/QJc got there. i think his range is probably weighted towards AK/AQ/Axc type hands, but i guess there's a chance he can have A8/A9 and didnt feel comfertable 3betting the flop this deep. or will he always b/3b with 2 pair given the texture of the flop?

i think an argument can probably be made for playing every street differently. i def check behind on the turn a lot but thought it might be ok if i plan to shove almost any river.

    comments on all streets appreciated.

edit: btw no particular history w/ villian.

Hmm, yeah you're right about you could have played every street differently, sometimes id flat call the flop sometimes id raise, both are fine.
When he calls the flop raise, i think id slow down and take the free turn card.
When he calls the turn i defo give up on the river especially against a solid regular.

cheers md. what kinda range do you put him on and what do you think is the worst hand he can call river with given lack of history?

    A-K, 8-9, or a flopped set.

You have taken a pretty strong line so he might even fold 8-9 here, he calls with any set though obviously.

I dont like it, I think you get called a lot.

I like the flop and turn combo, the turn bet is good because it brings up the possibility of pushing on the turn, or at least a very big bet. This deep he is not going to crai with one pair so you are unlikely to price yourself out. However once he calls the turn bet he is probabaly calling the river. That ten doesnt change a whole lot.

I think it's fine, I can't think of many hands villain can play like this and call the shove. He can't really have a set or better, and TAGs are very unlikely to call here with one pair hands. I don't think there are many two pair hands he can have here either, while there are still some hands that he calls the turn with but probably folds river (JT, AK, AQ, Acxc etc)
I think you get more than 55% of his range to fold
And the flop and turn are good imo

he calls you with TJc - i would :)

i'd give up when he called your flop rr - i'm guessin you think he has a medium ace and should fold?

I like the flop reraise as it has a good chance of taking the pot down along with disguising the flush if you hit the turn.I believe the turn bet was correct as he was likely to call your re raise hoping to improve the 5 would not have helped.I may have given up on the hand on the river but i can understand the bet i would have choose to bet $350 i feel the shove says i dont want a caller.I would put the player on A10 - AK i dont think he is laying down AK or A10 as half the time he wont even try put you on a hand.
