I know for the R.D.F (reserve defence force) you just have to turn up on a wednesday nite at teh army barracks (green st entrance). they're there from 8pm.

Alls you need to be is over 17.

when you go in you'l see em there in their gear just ask any of em..nice bunch of huys n gals.

as for activites...for the first few weeks you'l get your uniform and first up you'l have to learn to march..after that you'l learn about fieldcraft (army manouvers n stuff) and weapons training. prob involve a few trips to Kilkenny to train on the rifles (not shooting). Then you'l go for a weeks camp (great craic) and do more intensive training on the rifle then the fun part....go shooting!!!!...

thats basically your first few months training..its only 2 hours every wednesday nite...maybe the odd sunday shooting and manouvers or sometimes more exciting stuff...and of course...theres always plenty of drinking sessions.......
