Need new lens, Nikon's 18-200mm VR ?

Need to replace (http://flickr.com/photos/xshayx/1289696211/) my camera (prob wait for D300) and lens - looking at Nikon'ss 18-200mm VR, anyone got this, have read mixed reviews. Any other recommendations?

Sigma have a similar lens, but it's slightly slower at the long end (6.3 as opposed to 5.6 I think).

This has Sigma's version of VR, called OS (Optical Stabiliser).

I don't think the Nikon version has been released yet though. The Canon version is about €475 in the shops here, so probably the same for the Nikon whenever it gets released...

I read on camera labs that the sigma isn't as good.

I want one of these. The cheapest is on ebay at about 500 euros in c&P or for non grey market komplett have it for 790
