Screen format using 360 as extender...

Using a 360 as a Media Centre Extender, all is working fine, except the screen format is screwed up. I'm watching it on a 42" LG HDTV, but the screen format seems to be squashed, as in there's two big black bars either side of the picture... I've tried changing the format on the TV to 4:3, and I've messed around with the screen settings on the 360, all to no avail...

    Any ideas or suggestions wlecome!

Not sure if it will solve this problem, but worth a go: try playing around with the different Zoom options. I think there's a button on the 360 remote that brings you to the More Info menu (could be an i button) and from there you can change the Zoom options and one might suit.

Nope, I tried that, but I reckon it must be something along those lines... I've tried alla vailable settings on the TV so I'm leaning towards it being a 360 problem, but I have no idea to be honest...

    Is this 42" a 720p (with 1080i input option) or 1080p display ?

Is the UI for the Xbox 360 set to 720, 1080i or 1080p ?

If the TV has any sort of aspect control make sure it is set to wide or 16:9

If the black borders are present in video only are you sure the content is actually in wide screen format ?

Both 360 and TV are both set to 720, I might try changing it on both to see if that helps, TV is set to 16:9...
