I have a wirless adapter which can see my router but i cannot gain access to the internet. I borrowed a friends laptop with built in wireless card and that had no problems.

I gained access previously through a cable modem, could there be a problem with the old settings? a conflict maybe?

    Any ideas?

Do you have an encryption code set up to connect to router for net use? Maybe the key has to be reset? Or maybe you need to go to the web based settings under the ip address for the router & reset there.

    Any help would be appreciated

Could you please please give full and exact details of your set up? It is impossible to attempt to analyse a problem without knowing what the set up is!!!

For example you say that you previously gained access via a cable modem what changes have you since made? Boardsies are not mind readers.
