Are DT228/1 Repeat Results out yet?

Hi guys,

Just wondering does anybody know are the repeat results for Computer Science Yr1 out yet in Kevin St, are they on a board or something? I havnt got a email from dit but I'm well awair DIT is always a last minute thing,

nope theyre not out yet!!
our Board is meeting on thursday the 13th of this month.. so should be between friday and monday the results will be out!

Board meetings are held behind closed doors with only a select few lecturers with the head the said school and amongst other important people etc etc. students do not attend.

the results should be on the main notice board at the main entrance to kevin street the day after the board meeting. don't know if they are released online.

That makes sense but will we not get em on the 13th? coz im realy wanting the news sooner lmao, wat happened previos years does nyone know cos I would think it being a technology institute would be able to publish em online promptly

Well as you know DIT are a bit on the backwards side. I did a week of 3rd year and then was told to go back to 2nd year.

ah, feck it. i was under the impression they'd post the results straight after the board meeting i.e. on the day, well thats the impression i got from "as soon as possible" but i guess i havn't yet gotten to grips with dit's understanding of the phrase.

So presumably they'll be posted up sumtime on friday? I shall have to wait another day in suspense i guess :rolleyes:

Hopefully they'll be up tomorow, as its all computerised apparently i dont see why not, we'll see tomorow lol although others from class say to me that there out after meetings that day, or at least there up on a board in kevin st :P

They wont issue results over the phone. Whatever day your board are meeting, (you can phone the exam office to find this out) the results will be up late that afternoon and then follow in the post.

Ahh ok Cremo, makes sense, Couldnt really be bothered going in, I love how DIT says on their site up by "Noon" the 14th, I always understood noon to be between 12:00 and 1:00 :P

Well I passed all the repeats Thanks to a m8 who went into kevin st, I found out, I find it incredible DIT didnt publish the results online today esp coz were supposidly back this monday, Well ill expect em tomorow to be online, or that expecting way to much :P

well last year the school of computing board meeting wasn't until the tuesday after we were back so count yourselves lucky that you got your results before you've gone back.

unfortunately i wasnt so lucky (got the 'ol "reffered") so it looks like a repeat job for me. only thing is i cant really do anything till i get specific results so i know what im repeating. says theyll email us the results asap. anyone have a vague idea how long i can expect to be waiting?

on a side note i noticed only 6/29 passed with 1 carrying a subject. I can imagine they were marking it harshly either to sift out the ppl who are serious bout the subject and will keep trying or else we're all just bums

Yeah man, I was thrilled when I heard I passed to say the least, there may still be a possibility to continue on to 2nd year once you speak to the head (Think prob Brendan O Shea), Thats what I heard anyways,

someone in angier street told me her friend was told she wouldnt be gettin repeat results till october. i spose ure best bet is to ring the department head and find out what the story is.
I'm gonna ring brendan o shea 2m and find out when we can expect to get sent proper results. term starts tomorrow and i wanna get back asap so im not missing anything

nah, i just mean any form of results, i.e. somthing other than "reffered" so i know what i need to repeat. said they'll email them "as soon as possible" on the notice but as i said earlier "asap" could mean anytime for dit

what about checking our results online? I've been checking my DIT email every day, but havent received any mail since June or something like that.

Do they just post the results up on the notice board in the foyer area?

They were meant to be up online on the modelisation site 14th Sept "Noon" apparently, that never happened so there not up yet :P

actually just managed to bring up some DIT website there that had some details. It says the results for my course are out Tuesday and its the self service online thingy. So I can relax at least now. Was starting to panic when I heard nothing last Thursday/Friday.

Also, after you get your repeats, and assuming you passed..does the college usually just send you on your student ID and timetable in the post or do you go in and register?

EDIT: was talking to some guys in my course who passed all the exams. they said they have yet to receive any info in the post.

You know the way you can bring up the registration timetables on dit.ie though? well i did that. It says classes for my course begin tomorow with reg taking place the 25th (Monday week). Could that be right? seems v. strange that nobody really knows anything.

Was then trying to find a contact number for a course head but the ditsu.ie website is down it seems.

Well i got my results from the man himself, art sloan, over the phone (which prolly explains why they never got emailed out :P)

Just as i expected, have to repeat problem solving and programming but as an extra unpleasant surprise it turns out i have to repeat the continuous assessment part of maths which was just sum sh!tty little test we had during the semester worth 10% of the total marks, so even though i passed overall in the repeat, it turns out i now have to pass that test aswell, which quite frankly sucks

got my results anyway and passed the 2 I had to repeat. was ****in well chuffed went into the reg. office in aungier st. and they told me things were a bit hectic at the moment so I would probably get something in the post in the next 2 or 3 days with all my 2nd year info :P
