Hmmm, I am really struggling to come up with something here. None of the above.

It was the first job I was offered after I finished up my last contract. For the first time in my life, I was facing the prospect of being unemployed, so I took the first job that came along.

In fairness, it's not the worst. Just a handy number, with no prospects. Hence why I am working on extra certification to get me a real job. :)

My boss is pretty flexible, so I can work from home on occasion, we have flexi-time which is brilliant; I can come in early or late and avoid the rush. For a software engineer job, it's as steady as you can get. Work with a good team, and we get to do a lot of cool projects with new mobile devices etc.

I nearly took the plunge with a development job in a company that does online-poker software which would have been well cool, but decided to stay where I am because of the stability, pension and all that boring stuff.

All that said, I don't exactly skip into work with a grin on my face, but there's worse ways to spend the working week.

The tools I develop with are not in demand any more = Stuck :( The skills I have are as valid as anyone elses, just the TLAs and keywords on my CV don't hit the mark no more. I have retrained but don't have the new experience.

There's also a level of inertia as I have moved into a more managerial position, so with things being stuck I figured I'd try get a year of that on my CV.

I would have no problem leaving the place tomorrow otherwise...

    D.
