7 day shop are selling 4x ni-mh 2500 AA rechargable batteries for £2.99stg . delivery is only 3.95 stg .
Have always found 7 day shop to be reliable and helpful. and a great source for bits and pieces (never really bought anything big from them though so dont know how they compare for the higher end equipment).

For what it's worth - I never found these Tronic rechargables good. 7DayShop ones are much better IMHO.

Even better deal is this with double the batteries and a charger for £7.99, that works out at £2 for the charger! I have this and the charger and batteries are excellent. (Also charges AAA type batteries.)

    Thanks for that link.

Maplin, occasionally have good offers on rechargeable batteries etc. Their special offer leaflets always have rechargable batteries of some sort

7dayshop is probably my favourite online retailer. Check out their ink prices!

I ordered 2 packs of the 2800 mh ones @ £3.99 each. Good deal I think.

Thanks, ordered the charger. They also have a nice deal on usb cables etc. Though 4 quid delivery is bit steep all the same.

Any flash chargers around for cheap? I.e. the ones that can charge batteries in under an hour.

It's steep for one item but it's still 4 quid if you order 10 items even though they might send them in 5 different packages to avoid VAT.

I can recommend this one from 7dayshop (STG£12.99). I have it a year now and have bought one for someone else since. Great yoke - charges fast and if you get a few packs of the high capacity batteries (AA and AAA) you'll find that you use rechargeable batteries differently, as they are charged in a reasonably short time - no more plugging in at night and waiting until the next morning!

Also comes with a car-charger and works on international mains voltages/sockets.

Total cost: (fast charger and 2 packs each of AA and AAA batteries, inc. P&P) STG£30.90 ~ €45.38.

Not bad considering a fast charger and 4 lower capacity batteries sell for around €65 in the likes of Curries.

There is also an energizer one on the 7 day shop website. Comes with 4 2200mah AA batteries for £ 13.99. It charges in 15 minutes and works in both the car and on mains. I'm well pleased with my one.http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_3&products_id=101343

These days people should be buying hybrid NiMh batteries. They hold their charge for ages when not in use. check them out on amazon.
