Saw this on the Dublin City Council Parking information boards...

    'Airtaxi - xx Spaces'

Anyone any idea what is about?

I think it's the taxi car park at the airport which acts as a holding pen. Anyone who works the rank at the airport has to go via the car park first and then to the arrivals rank. Suppose it gives a guideline to whether it's worth a driver going out to the airport - if there's no spaces it would suggest that business is slack!

I don't know how they determine the spaces available there. The 'kesh' itself holds about 120 taxis but the official queue begins at the delivery entrance to the Raddison Hotel (formerly Great southern) and goes right around the rear of the large staff car park and back again. It then snakes around by the DAA maintenance buildings, around by the co-op shop and then around again to the actual entrance to the taxi park. As well as all that, there could be loads of taxis up at the terminal stretching from the arrivals road back beyond Corballis House!
