Went to FRV today for the first time and just thought I'd write a little bit of my experiences of the site just to let people know what its like.

Location about 15 minutes from annacloy on the loughlinish island road.

Size the site seemed to be about 20 or so acres.

terrain: the site was very hilly and open in many parts with large copses of trees gorse and brambles providing deep cover from which ambushes could be easily mounted or weathered in. There was a generous helping of bunkers and other man made fortifications which provided the focal point for most of the missions and offer an excellent opportunity to use a pistol to clear them out.

the day started at 10:50 sharp with a protect the target mission which offered an excellent opportunity to scope out the lie of the land while at the same time being reasonably fast paced and getting you into the swing of things. the game was your typical skirmish affair lasting about 45 mins.

the second game was a real meat grinder lasting for 2 and a half hours solid. it involved locating a bunker that could be anywhere on the site and freeing the demolishions expert from it. no mean feat as we were arriving piece meal due to the vastness of the AO and a terminal shortage of radio equipment. :) the bunker then had to be cleared of 15 very dug in constantly regenning guys. and we find our demolishions expert and a MAP !!!! we now had to follow the map to find the artillary piece which was surrounded by yup you guessed it 15 dead ard guys n gals all regenning constantly. but we prevailed in the end and were treated to a spectacular explosion as the ordnance master detonated the electric maroon creating a deafining din and a massive plume of smoke. this was a game of 2 halves broken up by a half hour lunch break.

the final game was a defend the bunker game which was notable for several reasons firstly because we won. secondly the marshall was acting the mickey and throwing unlit thunderflashes into our bunkers causing us to scatter immeadiately while he roared laughing. and thirdly because i have never seen so many people being ball shot in one hour :p absolutely hilarious.

Highlights: being able to use pyros,
the amazingly warm welcome we always recieve when we cross the border to play
    the freedom to roam.
the exceptional honesty of the players that were involved.
the amazing site and the brilliantly good natured and mischievious marshalls

I 110% recomend FRV to anyone who is interested in a physically demanding, pyro chucking, bb fest. get going while the going is good.
