I need to do a contiguous elevation drawing of a driveway I'm widening, for Dublin City Council. Could anyone please tell me what this is and what I'd have to do? Any advice appreciated. :)

Its basically an elevation of the property including adjoining properties.

Check with the local planner first as a contiguous elevation can mean different things to different people.

Is it like an ariel drawing... would you need to do it to scale on a computer or could it be drawn by hand?
Is there anywhere on the internet where I could see an example of what one looks like?

    Would it look like this

or am I totally off track?

    no, thats a site plan.

what you need is a drawing showing existing and proposed elevations of what you plan to do.

picture yourself standing in front of the driveway then drawing what you see.

it needs to be drawn to scale (1:50, 1:100 etc etc)
i take it your widening your driveway or putting in one?

i can email you what i have used in my applications before tomorrow if you would like something as a reference to what you need?

OP: no as that is a plan as opposed to elevation:
you need a sreet scape elevation to show that u are not building a 'Dunner' at 37 storeys:D
will try get one and post the link,

Yeah, I'm just widening it.. only a little bit but the red tape must still be ploughed through!

i just sent you 2 examples of what i have used in the past.
just being curious here, but by how much are you widening your driveway?

i was talking to a planning consultant (Ex. City Planner with DCC : were going through a bit of a problem with gates up in terenure) and he said that allthough you need planning permission for a new driveway, if your only widening it then it needs to be a substantial widening to justify a planning application.

may be worth asking if it needs it first.
