I arrived in Ireland a couple of days ago for uni (NUIG) and am lucky enough to have a case on tonsilitis.

Should I go to the doctors or hospital, or just the pharmacy? Will I have to pay (i'm a UK and EU citizen).

Ring the Student Health Unit which is based in Aras na Mac Leinn.
    You'll get them on ext 2604 or 091 750451.
They should be able to advise you. I think they have a GP service there (but probably not every day) and I also think it's a free service. They'll also advise you on how to go about getting a medical card (means tested) so you can see a regular GP without paying.
