Okay, I have my G36, and this is without a doubt the best thing I have ever held in my life, ever.

    No really.

HOWEVER. It won't fire. The bb's don't seem to be going into the gun, and when I take the magazine out, a few fall out, so they are leaving the magazine ( does this make any sense?)
The gun will fire when held upside down though.

    Any ideas / suggestions?

Did you use BBs that came with gun ? (Iam not an expert)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,163 ✭✭✭✭Boston

I'm a newbie to this as well, but as far as I can tell this isn't uncommon, probably a BB jammed somewhere, try pushing your cleaning rod down the barrel gentle and looking through the mag chamber see if you see the rod, otherwise its probably blocked with a BB.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,040 ✭✭✭odonnell

had same probs with m4 ...new magazines cured it. try holding the mag up into the AEG with a little pressureand fire. If it fires...you need new mags.

as a noob - this is what happened to me. problem was a slight discrepancy between the standard mag size and the mags supplied. mags supplied with m4 were mince.

I've emailed you a reply Silverfish...I think I know what the problem is.

It may be the hop up jamming bbs in the barrel. (As they do this when its up full)

Turn the hop up off completely and try then. If it works, try to gradually raise it up until it stops firing.

My own aeg wont fire with the hop up on at ALL right now. Doing my head in.

    Heh :)

Thank heavens for that. My dad is heartbroken, as we had the opportunity to go running around the garden playing with it today, but couldn't get it to work, now I'm back up in the big smoke, and he's G36-less.

Why don't you just give me yours ? Not like you'll be using it for awhile

    *cackle*

Oh...and Nonex christened the Type 89 today - 4 kills in about 50 seconds :D

It sounds awesome...and the 3 round burst is just ded sexy. The M15 might be heading for semi-retirement.

Yeah I was one of those kills... he felt we had an adavantage and quickly sorted it out!

p.s. Shiva nice one for the new toy... now all I need is the drum mag!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 306 ✭✭davvowl

well if it works properly when upside down... i can only think of this :

if its a mid/low cap, disassemble your mag and loosen the screws a bit
if it doesnt solve the problem, disassemble and put a bit of grease on the plastic thing on the top of the spring (the thing that pushes the bb's)
oh and if its a hicap... wind it till it goes CLICK :p

I have that exact same problem with my G36C and MP7 for months now, whats the secret.

I'm stuck to using my two GBBs.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 16,698 Mod ✭✭✭✭Silverfish

    Um,

Open the little hatch beside the feeding nozzle on the magazine, fill 'er up, insert the magazine, wind the dial at the base for a few minutes until it clicks,( :o the bit I "forgot" ) this feeds the bb's into the feeding nozzle ....worked for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

Nah, that aint it. The mags I have for the G36 and MP7 are not wind ups. They are ''real cap'' mags.

I have 10 mags for the '36 and two for the '7 and they will only fire upside down.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 306 ✭✭davvowl

did you try shooting upside down ? how does it go ?

it might be the screws inside of the mags that are too tight.
unscrew em for like 180 degrees and put some grease.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

They both work upside down on semi-auto. Full auto won't work upside down.

I'll try taking them apart but I can't see how 12 brand new mags are all wonky.

Awww silver, I'm dead jealous, I have a G36C on order with Tony too. Not to hijack your thread and all, but could you tell me a bit about it? As a fellow newb and all? You just sound like you are impressed by by it and all...

I love it. I'm sitting here typing with it on my lap.

Its heavy, solid, not flimsy at all, which I'd been afraid of :)
Haven't had a chance to fire it much yet, due to the problems getting it to fire when I was in a location where I could, and only got to fire one or two test shots here for fear of worrying the neighbours :)

Nice feel to the firing, very accurate, good distance, very little drop to the bullets ( lost sight of one :) )

alright then its not because of that little spring on top of the hopup - since g36's dont have one

the truth is out there...
ill be at hrta this saturday (and this afternoon maybe) so i can have a look at this if you want

just changed the spring in my m4 gear box and wen fired for first time it spurted and died. took it apart again and am a bit apprehensive of messing it up again.
firstly i forgot the exact positioning of each gear to each other and am not to sure about all this talk of shimming correctly and incorrectly?

i found wat i cud on da net and used dat as a guide , but these wernt very helpful

yes i know dat you really shouldnt take it apart unless you know wat u r doing, but i couldnt help myself! and thought i would be alrite as i spend most of the day assembling and dissassembling car and bike ignitions!!

basically i dont have much internet access and hoped someone out der could send me sum websites about gearboxes wer da info was tried and tested!!

bak to work now, cheers for any help

Can anyone help me? I have been working away with my G36C all afternoon, but I seem to have jammed it.

There would appear to be at least 2 pellets in the chamber, which I can see from underneath through the mag well, but I cant seem to dislodge them with the little jam clearing rod thing. Can I get them out without disassembling the whole bloddy thing?

EDIT: I just managed t oget one out by pissing around with the hop up, but it looks like there's still two pellets in there. I'm afraid to try and dis lodge them by firing, as I've heard that it can damage the motor, but the little tool is doing nothing, just moves them back a tiny bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

Can anyone tell me what do you use to take the flash hider off a G36C. There is one small hex screw holding it at the bottom. I have gone out and bought a set of hex spanners and not one of them is small enough to fit in it. This thing is tiny and I can't get a driver or hex spanner small enough to fit it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

bewildered: make sure the hopup is off and try clearing them, also a bit of silicone oil in the chamber wouldnt hurt, if the bbs are jammed itll help loosen them up

Captain Chaos: try find a hex key small enough? or maybe if you have one of those tiny screwdrivers (you know the ones for sunglasses), that might do the job, just be careful not to strip the screw

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 100 ✭✭bewildered

Cheers man, managed to sort it out. I somehow got 3 pellets stuck in the barrell. I unscrewed the mag-well and had a little bit of a fumble around inside. I hope I havent damaged any internals, Ill find out when I get some more BBs from Shiva,

I think its because I wasn't using decent BBs, I had some crap old ones mixed in with the ones I got with the gun. I'll smack in some silicone in the clip and the barrel next time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

when you say crap old ones do you mean the type that you can see the seams on?

probably good to give your barrel a good clean after that jam anyway, at worst id say you _may_ have damaged the hopup rubber, but they are cheap enough to replace anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 100 ✭✭bewildered

Well I havent actually set the hop up yet, it's been off since I bought it (havent had a chance to shoot good enough distance yet). As for the bbs, they're not so crap that they have big rings on them, but I got them with a cheap springer about 4 years ago in england.

I'm goign to give the barrell a lube, but i dont have a nossle for the silicone spray, should I just spray the cloth or should I drown the magazine and fire off a few rounds?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

    what colour are they?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

i normally just spray a bit either down the barrell or on the strip of cloth before i clean the barrel, just spraying silicone into the mag wont clean the barrell because the bbs wont take the dirt with them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 100 ✭✭bewildered

The BBs are white, same as the ones I got with my gun. It might just be a case that the barrell needs to be oiled, are there any other important areas that need to be lubed up? I've ordered a load of good BBs off shiva so Ill compare the two types when I get them in.

Cheers for the help guys, so far I've just been a face on the forums, but I've got off work this saturday so Im hoping to get to HRTA. I swear Im not as irritating in real life!

    No really.

The other is a TM MP7 with two TM mags.
Iv noticed alot of people are buying JG 36C's these days...one thing, dont they fire at like 360fps stock?

    EDIT:
It does come with an M120 spring.

    EDITED ONCE AGAIN!:
What I was actually trying to ask was how do you get them pre-downgraded? I want to buy the clone L96 but its 450fps outta the box.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,163 ✭✭✭✭Boston

The 360 out of the box is just that, out of the box. By the time your run afew mags through the gun the spring will start to be bedded down and you'll be looking at around 330 ~ 340 fps. You'll still be well within acceptable margins for error.

As for downgrading, some gear boxes support it which others are set. Someone here might be willing to do replace the gear box for you.

Don't bother with the clone l96. You'll be disappointed at its build quality. The only good thing it had going for it was the fps. And obviously we cant have that here.

Put the money toward a Maruzen instead. They're expensive but the quality is excellent. Plus it comes about 280fps stock. You'll be glad you did ;)

unfortunately, if it fires 360 out of the box, it's still over 1 joule and therefore cant be imported, some retailers will change springs around if you ask nicely and/or pay an extra fee though

as for downgrading, i've yet to see/hear of a gearbox that you cant change the spring in???
