FTV Card

    I have a UK FTV card for about 2 months but had not been using it. When I got it channel 4 and five were OK on it when I put it in my Sky Box. The thing is now it does not seem to have any of the C4 or Five Channels. If a card is not kept in a turned on sky box does it get disabled. It did work when I got it but not any more. Is it a matter of getting sky to turn the card back on. D

    Leave in the box overnight, it'll be okay in morning, just needs to reactivate itself. For the love of God, don't ring Sky.

    That worked.
    Would it not be OK to ring Sky about this card if I have all the legit details about the card.

    Also 1 thing if I use the card in a non sky box to receive C4 and 5 will the card stay turned on or will these channels dissapear like they have done while the card was not in the sky box.
    I have tested the card in a non sky box with a friend and the channels were viewable no problem.

    Would I have to take the card and put it in a sky box every so often.

    if you had all the legit info on the card it would be fine, and phone sky with a blocked call, as those cards are not available here. if you didnt have the details it would be a short call.
    the card stays active for around 6 weeks out of the box and has to be put in to reactivate or "keep alive".
    as for "other" boxes is depends on the firmware, most require that the card has to be returned to a sky box to receive the keep alive. other versions emulate it fine.
