I've been playing $5 STTs (6-max) on PPP for the last 3 weeks having built a $100 br to $185 usually playing 5 or 6 a day (One table at a time). But just this last week I've been having a tough time. I lost nine in a row on Tuesday and today I've got one second place out of 9. The moneys down to $122. I'm playing fairly solid poker, but have suffered some awful beats and there were a couple of hands where I made silly mistakes that cost me a lot of chips.

Question is, when do I give up and get away from it. I think my play in general is good enough. I dont feel like I'm on tilt (I know it can creep up on you). What do other do in this situation?

My solution was to switch to cash. I found STTs so frustrating and tilt inducing. Haven't looked back since.

Rather depends on why you are playing. At 22 euro in 3 weeks, I'm guessing its not for the quick cash...

Sorry, that sounds needlessly bitchy and I didnt intend it that way. I meant You should stop when the reason you started is fulfilled or you no longer have a good reason to do it.

If you were enjoying playing STT's then stop, or take a break, since you arent enjoying it now. I doubt you are doing it for money so I am guessing its for fun and enjoyment. If thats the case, take break and try playing live or playing something else or go to the cinema or something :)

These swings happen, although i notice if im having a swing i make mistakes easier too.

Take a few days off and go back.

losing 9 in a row is nothing. I once finish OTM in 16 9 handed STTs in a row but these were sandwiched in between some wins so it averaged out.

I would stick at. It's not enough of a down-swing for you to be too concerned yet. If you give up on STTs now you're just not giving yourself a fair crack of the whip.

Cheers fellahs. I'll stick at it but just take a break for a few days (after I see a movie ;) ). Hopefully this'll help.

I've just deciphered a few HHs. (I get .xml files and can't read them with anything, if anyone knows how, please pm me and let me know). There's no doubt there was a lot more tilt than I thought. I made some bizarre calls and tried to push through silly bluffs against calling stations and donks. A break will be good. Thanks again.

Me too...having much more success, for what reason I've no clue.
