    Howdy

I've talked Seamus into running a Sat for the Dublin EPT...now all I have to do is to come up with a playable structure that suits ye fussy women (ie MD Wexford!)

    Here's where I'm starting from:

200 (+20) Rebuy Tourney on Sunday the 14th October

    Starting Stack: 5k
    Rebuy €100: 5k
    Top Up €100: 8k

    Start: 4pm
    First 3 levels 40 mins
    25/50 (40 mins)
    50/100 (40 mins)
    75/150 (40 mins)

15 min break @ 6pm and becomes a Freezeout and reverts to 30 min levels
    100/200 (30 mins)
    150/300 (30 mins)
    200/400 (30 mins)
    300/600 (30 mins)

    15 min break at 8.15pm
    400/800 (30 mins)
    500/1000 (30 mins)
    600/1200 (30 mins)
    800/1500 (30 mins)

    15 min break at 10.30
    1000/2000
    1500/3000
    2000/4000
    2500/5000

    15 min break at 12.45

    3000/6000
    4000/8000
    5000/10000

    Rough Estimate:
    40 runners 8,000
    30 RBs 3,000
    30 TUs 3,000
    Prizepool 14,000

    1st 8k Ticket
    2nd 2.5k
    3rd 1.5k
    4th 1k
    5th 500
    6th 500

comments much appreciated and please put yer name down in interested

    cheers

    Bops

Looks like a really good structure Bops....I wouldn't bother with the 40 minute clock early on though......30 minute clock is fine with those kinds of chips and you're looking at ten hours of play before there is a winner.

I'll be on holiday on the 14th but I've been meaning to call down for a tournament for ages (I keep getting texts from Seamus ten minutes before tournament start times :) )

How many runners do you think you will need to generate the 14K prizefund. It's not easy to get a lot of players for a €200 tournament especially when it is a re-buy.

I love the idea of playing for an EPT seat but have to say I don't like re-buy tournaments and I think it will be very difficult to get the numbers.

    I'm not saying I wouldn't play but !!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the Ticket / Prizefund guaranteed

yes i think your a way too good a player for these crapshoots.

****e sorry supposed to be talking about your tournament!!... anyhow i cant see people buying in for 200+ for a rebuy tournament especially down in wexford where as said before interest would not be that high as i cant see players travelling that far for it..good idea givin away a seat for the ept though

ok we got enough runners just to cover the ticket for the WSOP ME a couple of months ago - the prizepool gave a ticket for first and 200 for 2nd so a deal was done which was a pity but expected since there was only one prize...

so my thinking is if we had a 200 FO we'd have the same result - just enough to cover the ticket, and therefore a chop at the FT - which just makes it a standard 200 FO...

so if we make it a Rebuy, we can gererate enough funds for a decent FT payout including a ticket for 1st.

if you chose to play it as a 200 FO you have enough chips and a decent structure to give it a shot, you could look at it as a 300 FO and be looking at taking the top-up - giving you a very healthy total of 13k stack, or you could be a mentaler (me) who will look at it as being a 500 FO coz i'll be rebuying in the 1st orbit, adding plenty of dead money to the pool

...i think this way just caters for more people and gives more reasons for people to play??

    what do ye think??

if we have 40 runners for a FO (that's what i would expect) we'd have a ticket, but it would be chopped...

if we had 40 runners for a Rebuy, we'd have ~ 14k so a nice payout for top 5/6 inc a ticket for 1st

    i know you'll play skippy :p

At the end of the day Bops, how many of your expected runners for such a tournament would actually want the seat as opposed to the cash?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,793 ✭✭✭bops

yes i think your a way too good a player for these crapshoots.

good point Lloyd, only about 8/40 at a guess - i'd love to give it a shot and would be making no deal, i can play a 200 FO anywhere

if you won a satt on stars - would you play??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,793 ✭✭✭bops

who thinks it should be a 200 FO - say ticket only for 1st the will probably be choped?? or

a 200 + 100 Rebuy, that probably less will play but a better payout inc a ticket for 1st the probably wont be chopped??

    anyone????

well bops just on your post eariler if it was just a ticket on offer i dont think u would get 40/45 to pay 220 with just the 1 prize why not go for 300 tourney which would give out cash for the runners up (ie fish like u):D :D

As if i care what you think whoever you are, id be willing to bet you are a shockingly bad player anyway.

I think the players that want a Ticket to play in "Dublin EPT" would be better off heading up to dublin for the super sat on the EPT weekend.
More Tickets to play for and everyone there wants a ticket not doing deals for cash.

Run a tournament, maybe € 100 in with a rebuy and top up available, thus creating a good prize fund? "cash payout" . I think a decent cash rebuy tournament would do well as no one is running one in the south-east.
