What is with the trend for constantly recapping what you've just watched - usually in reality shows like Downsize Me, Honey We're Killing The Kids, Doggie Borstal etc.

I'm not a goldfish, I don't need to be told what I just saw minutes earlier. It's surprising to see such poor fare particularly on BBC3 and BBC4.

Is this just filler, or is it to try and hook passing channel hoppers who may have missed the start? Any other ideas?
