I got my registration pack on Tuesday which told me to register by Self-Service between the 6th and the 11th of September. So I went off and got everything ready by the computer and saved my photo to the computer. And when I went to register online it then said that it couldn't accept money online yet. :mad: I don't see why they would say to register on these dates but not put the services in place to actually do this.

I'm heading down to Corrib Village tomorrow and if they won't accept credit cards tonight I suppose there won't be much hope for the morning. Did anyone else have this problem?

The registration pack says you can use the on-campus computers but I'm pretty sure it said somewhere you needed your Student ID for to use them (which you need to register to get).

If I can use the college computers will I have to rescan my photo or can I put it onto a memory stick yoke?

no,registering is for first years.

It might be for people returning but I need to register for the college

I'm talkin about the online registering. I was under the impression that I go into the Uni on monday to register.

I'll admit, I'm not exactly au fait with how First Years are registered now, so I can't help you with most of what you want answered. However, I CAN tell you that you don't need a student ID to log onto a college computer. In the documentation you received from the university, you'll have got a form with your own personal details on it. Look to the right column, and there ought to be "Computer Details" on it, with your user name (your student ID number) and a password underneath. Those are all you need to log on to a computer.

i'm trying to register online by self registration (first year arts have to use this) but it won't let me upload a photo!!!!! help!!!!! i tried loads of times and it won't let me complete the registration because of it

hey! you can put it on a memory stick! that's no bother!

by the way, the SSR thing online is now accepting credit cards and laser cards for online payment!

Only problem is, the photo uploading doesn't seem to be working!
Or maybe it's just my computer...!

I click upload and it seems to go ok but then register.



I'm supposed to have a student Id and password for the computers, is this the Student Number and Pin number i log in to the SSR with?

it's so annoyin isn't it!! stupid photo! lol. i'd say if we go in to college tomorrow they'll be able do it for us anyway! just bring the photo on a memory stick or somethin.
yeah your student ID is always ur CAO number, i.e. the one you use for SSR.
You only use your pin number (the SSR one), to register, check exam results etc.

You get a different password for your NUIG e-mail account etc.
You won't be able to get it until you register though!

i don't think so!
But if you go to the library reading room tomorrow morning i'm sure they'll let you access the computers to register!
I'll be doing the same as you anyway and loads of other people too!

I went to register and nearly had a heart attack, I was waiting for three hours to get registered and missed my first two lectures.

It was like Disneyland,every time I thought I was reaching the head of the queue,it curved around again.

Grrr,what did the rest of you look like anyway?

Want to see if I recognise anyone(not likely with the size of that thing)
