    They found a 100 year old copy of "how to make it", lead is cheaper than the alternatives currently used in manufacturing.
    In Victorian times, all water pipes were lead, lead was a major ingredient of gloss paint, children played with lead toys etc.

    I bought a house in 1990 and one of the first jobs I did saw to replace the lead pipes! Gloss paint with lead in it was available until quiet recently (1980's I think).

    As to where're its coming from, probably from all the lead we've thrown away and sent to China for recycling.

    Is it me or is all these cheap Chinese products coming back to haunt us, Lead paint, exploding batteries, PSU's going on fire. What next. Might be time to go back to the guarenteed Irish lables.
