I'm doing a fairly big gig in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for great tunes I may have misssed over the last year or so. I know my sig says I should know already but there's always the chance I've missed something. Thanks in advance

Metric (although not new) have some wicked songs - Succexy, Wet Blanket, Poster of a Girl and Monster Hospital (to name a few).

A little slower & folkier but still super cool is Feist - I Feel it All, My Moon My Man and 1234.

Not really playing anywhere regular now. I fill in the odd time in Whelans or Eamonn Dorans. There's better money in one off gigs and weddings to be honest. Although most weddings tend not to want much alternative stuff.
The gig was great, dancefloor got plenty of use. Lazarus got a run out too :D

I loved the neon golden album by notwist so i'll check that out. Not heard of
50 ft wave so that's on my list now too.

    cheers

    sweetie
50 foot wave is Kristin Hersh's current band and their self-titled EP is just scorchin'.. the follow-up LP is great too but the EP is just magic - the riffs are fast and ripping and kristin sounds like she's 18 again!.. and 'neon golden' is amazing yeah, i haven't heard any of their other albums tho'..
it'd be cool if u could let me know when ur playin' a club again.. i just never hear good music out anywhere..
    gluefoot@topmail.ie
    cheers
