Who is the better MMA fighter Fedor Emelianenko or Randy Couture? Who would win? That would be a fight worth seeing. Now that UFC own Pride will it happen?

The only way I could see Randy winning is by cuts (Fedor bleeds quite easily).

In my opinion, Fedor is simply better in every department. His ground and pound game is brutal!

It would make for a great "passing of the torch" match though. Fedor is a huge fan of Randy's and both are fantastic ambassadors for the sport.

    Quoted for truth.

My main concern for Fedor in UFC would be elbows causing cut TKO's. He does bleed very easily.

not worried about Fedor's GNP as Randy is unlikely to be on his back unless hes knocked out.More concerned about fedor knocking him out standing.

I love randy but every time he fights i think he'll lose so im going to say randy would pull it out of the hat, but this fight would be great to see who is the top of the heavys in the mma world..

Rumour mill is that Fedor is going to be at UFC tomorrow - so maybe Dana will make a suprise announcement, but he did go on record and say the deal isn't done. Who knows?

As far as who'd win? Fedor.

I hope this happens. If Randy loses he'll retire a hero. If he wins it will concrete his legendary status.

I wonder how Fedor would cope with Randy's dirty boxing, especially if he was pinned against the cage?

Well it looks like we're gonna find out. Anyone else hear Mike Goldberg let it slip during the rampage fight?

    Yep I knew I didn't imagine it :)

I didn't catch it, I was shouting too much. What did he say?
I wouldn't know if him saying something would mean that a deal's happened and they're keeping it quiet. They're probably trying to avoid a repeat of what happened with Wandy ages ago.

He was doing the usual blathering about how the pride aquisition is creating so many great match ups like Rampage - Hendo. Then he said something alonfg the lines of the heavy-weight belt is also gonna be unified with Fedor coming over to fight Randy. "Isn't that right Randy?" "<silence>" I could just picture Joe and Randy glaring at him as if to say "You weren't supposed to say that asshole!"

brilliant!!! mike goldbergs such a knuckle head, has a penchant for one liners and no ability to call a fight, thank christ for joe rogan.

i think randy would kick ass, he's proven time and time again that he's just stronger then anyone can grasp, we all saw how tim sylvia out muscled the snow man on the ground, that was pretty damn impressive considering how monson is basically a muscle bag with a face. But then he spends 4 of the 5 rounds against randy being shoved around like a rag doll, same thing again with gonzaga who was by all means a much larger man.

Randies skills in the clicnh are unparralelled and i think he proved as much against gonzaga who had nothing for him up against the cage, not to mention his striking has come along incredibly, just effortlessly dodging 2 and 3 punch combos from sylvia in the third round, making him look like a complete amateur.

I think it would be a massive fight, just a brilliant war but I stopped counting randy out after sylvia when i hought he might inch out a win... jesus i was right but so very wrong ;>

    Fedor!

Randy is a legend, but Fedor is an all rounder compared to him.

how do u even train for someone like him?

    Fedor.

I think people (me included) underestimated the differance between the Pride and UFC rules, its why the likes of Crocop have struggled so bad in the UFC - the cage and elbows just really dont suit him and i think any weight differance is more of a disadvantage in a cage.

However, Fedors style, like Rampages, is much better suited to UFC rules than it was to Pride rules and i think hes gonna excel and will be a killer with elbows.

Well if you asked me before CroCops performances in the cage I would have said Fedor easily.

Of course my prediction now is still the same, for Fedor is not human. He is a russian killing machine. Throw in elbows to his already brutal GnP and Anyone who steps into a cage with him is in a lot of trouble, including the legend randy.

I thought that Matt Lindland put in a really good show against Fedor, not as one sided as I would have thought. I think Randy is better than Lindland.

    I give this to Randy.

If fedor is coming into this fight without a warm up UFC fight,I give the edge to Randy.

All credit to Fedor's GnP,but you have to take Randy down before you get to use it,and I cant remember the last time someone took him down.

Randy has all the tools to win.
He's a great wrestler who can take Fedor down - we've seen that happen plenty of times. Fedor also won't be able to submit him off his back.

Fedor cuts easily, and Randy's gameplan is obviously to get him down, keep him down and get the ref or doctor stoppage.

The danger is Fedor's standup - can Randy weather that storm? Personally I think so.

If Fedor goes to the UFC I'd like to see him fight Gonzaga first, then Randy, if he wins.
