    Howdy,

    The gf's IPOD used to be managed by an Itunes on her old PC which I fecked out.

    So her new pc arrives, happy days, except Itunes wants to wipe the ipod to manage it again.

    Is there a way to get the music/video/etc on the ipod back into Itunes and have Itunes manage it again??

    :mad::mad:

    If you want to PM me your email i have a tool that will extract all the music from the iPod and put it onto the computers hard disk. This way you can import all the music back into iTunes and re sync the iPod.

    EDIT: The tool is actuall stored on my iPod and I dont have the cable with me in work but I would be able to email it too you over the weekend. I cant remember the name of the tool so I cant provide you with a link to download it from sorry.

    Isn't there a setting in iTunes preferences that stops it doing this? But you probably are better getting rid of it. As they say "iTunes just sits in your iMemory doing iF*ck all".

    Can you enable disk mode without wiping the ipod? you GF has her ipod set to auto sync (a horrible setting IMO) but in disk mode you can copy all your tracks back to the PC with out the need for any additional software.

    Yeah I had enabled disk mode but was trying to get everything back into itunes without actually copying over the music from the ipod

    Which part?

    As in Itunes manages the ipod, all the lists, podcast subscriptions etc are in Itunes (software) but not physically on the disk?

    Try http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/19890 which mounts your iPod like an external drive. Copy the contents of the pod onto another device or burn to DVD whatever... Then you can reformat the iPod or whatever the new machine wants to do. Transfer the music back to the iPod when the machine is happy with the formatting.
