Opus Octopus Multi Room?

I've just got planning permission and I'm looking at creating a very advanced Home Entertainment system, I've been looking for a system that allows video and audio to be distributed around the house and allowing each room to be controlled individually with each room having the option to select a different or same video source.

Now I like the sonos for sound but I want to do with Video what sonos does with sound, I know this will be expensive and to be honest I may end up just wiring for the system first then installing it down the road. One system I have seen which looks to be capable of what I want is http://www.opus-technologies.co.uk/octopusmr/control_units.html#

Now they say they have a CAT5 solution available to save having to run the video over coaxial but I can't find information on it anywhere has anyone seen this system or can anyone offer any other systems?

Opus would love to hear their system classed as "very advanced" however the Opus octopus system is entry level basic at best. Now dont get me wrong its a lovely system with some lovely features considering its cost its easy to expand and upgrade ie install the audio system first and add the video matrix switching at a later date. the video side of the opus is delivered over coaxial cable you can add CAT5 balums to convert to CAT5 if you want but this is still in addition to the cables required for the audio part so you may as well just run the coax.
if you want really advanced features try taking a look at either Crestron or Amx but these are not self install system and have to be carefully designed and budgeted for (bring your bank manager with you during the site survey)
as for other systems the Opus 500 aint bad, the Xantech MRC88 the russound and Niles system also offer solutions. If you want a system over CAT5 take a look at the system "Industria" recommended cant think of what is is now it's on one of his replies it supports HD which was a big pitfall of other CAT5 distribution systems (but i dont think it supports wall panels)
a lot of these systems use a standard wiring format and to some degree are interchangeable (not all) but wall plate size, dept etc can be different, additional features on some systems require extra cabling that may not be compatable with other systems and so on.
So my advice is do a bit more research on some of the systems outlined above, sit down and think about what you want the system to do for you, create a budget (stick to it) and you can then relax a bit and lookforward to the system.
