    It's a long shot I suppose. I'm a bit miffed about only getting a twin room, but it's a lot better than nothing. Hopefully the guy won't be a dick or anything.

    On a related note, my room is 85.11.01.

    1st floor, room 11 and building 85? How do you figure that out?

    You shouldn't post someone's name and address in a public place without their consent - it's not fair. Please edit it out of your post...

    In terms of deciphering the number, here's how it works.

    79 = House 79 (don't worry, there aren't 79 houses in Trinity Hall - it's a numbering system that starts with House 1 (which no longer has any residents, but never mind) in Front Square in Trinity and continues through the campus and then out to Halls.

    12 = Apartment no 12 (this happens to be on the xxx floor as I recall - they just start with no 1 on the ground floor and work on from that. Campus numbering is different though, see below).

    03 = bedroom number.

    (On-campus rooms are different, e.g. 48.1.2 means house 48, floor 1, room 2).

    Editing out the address would be pointless now since about 3 other people, you included, have reposted it.

    Editing out the name would defeat the purpose of the whole thread. Besides, I'd say there are more than 1000 people with that name in Ireland.

    Nevertheless, more specific information on the person could be garnered (i.e. being 1st year student in halls say). So name with address ain't cool. So I've edited the latter...
