    Hi Folks,

Can anyone recommend a bluetooth mouse that will work with a MacBook Pro and use its internal bluetooth receiver. That is a mouse that doesnt require a seperate dongle/receiver to be plugged into the laptop. Ive seen a few around but they all seem to have to use a dongle.

Correct me if I'm wrong folks, but wouldn't ANY Bluetooth mouse be able to sync with a Mac since it's a universal standard, like USB?
Therefore, the reason they all have dongles being because PCs don't have BT as standard still.

    Hi Folks,

Cheers for the feedback, I was under the misguided impression that bluetooth was at the lower coms level not akin to USB. My bad for asking a silly question :-|

    URGH!

Apple's Mighty Mouse is great, but the wireless one is a bit too heavy for my liking. Look around the usual suspect companies, Logitech, Microsoft etc and try to pick one with Mac drivers, for extra drivers etc.

In my opinion, and Im not exagerating in the slightest, the mighty mouse is the most despicable mouse I have ever used.

I use it with my macbook but only to free up usb ports.

Its heavy and slippy and the right click is as flakey as a Kellogs factory.

Try click holding- dragging from one corner of your monitor to the opposite corner with the wireless mighty mouse, then try it with any other mouse and you will find it much easier.

On my mini I use a cheapo Dell wired mouse and its fantasticly ugly, responsive and comfortable.

Dave, please reconsider the wireless mighty mouse, there are lots of great alternatives.

@womoma - Dont worry Im with you on this one, I personally think they are an atrocious mouse. Microsoft and Logitech make some of the best ergonomic mouses I have used, they feel very solid yet comfortable. To be honest Im a little bemused that Apple let the finishing touches of a mouse and keyboard slip into such a sad state, I know they want ot differentiate between Mac users and others but they are terrible result from a company that prides itself on doing things well (if you believe the spin ;-P)

Be careful here. Bluetooth was originally (and I suppose still is) meant to replace all those wires that link keyboards and mice to computers.

Some non apple computers do come with built in bluetooth - for instance you can order a dell laptop with bluetooth built in.

The dongles are not always for bluetooth they can just be for a wireless mouse or keyboard.

Anyways this review might be of interest to you:

But most Macs since 2003 or so come with BT built-in anyway...
    Anway: New MS Bluetooth mouse
And if this new Logitech thingy works with Mac as well as PS3 (boo!) I'll be getting one.
