    Hi,

What is the cheapest insulation for insulating above a first floor ceiling between joists?

glass fibre is prolly the cheapest, first between the joists and then across them.

Put 10" in if u can

Thats a spray on foam right. It would gives a similar U-Value to stadard glass wool. How does it fair with cost? If you only have 225mm, i'd rather go for a higher spec glass wool to get the best u-value

anybody know whats the best insulation for between rafters.
Is it necessary to leave ventilation space if using breathable felt.
Been told standard rolls of insulation used between rafters become inefficient.(shrinkage)
Anybody have experience with diy spraying?

Basically, you need to leave a gap between the felt underneath the tile and the spray foam. This is done by fixing a breathable vent card to the rafters before spraying the foam.
