Getting a tree felled/removed from our back garden

We have a copper beech tree in our back garden which is probably about 25-30 feet tall and we want to get rid of it as it's way too big for the garden and as it's taller then the house it also blocks out a lot of our neighbours (already limited as north facing) light into his garden.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a company that can remove this tree and the stump and dispose of it, or give a rough idea of what a job like this might cost? As the tree can't just be cut down due to proximity to garden walls, our shed, and the house, i presume they would have to cut all the branches off and then take the trunk off in sections.

to get the root and stump out its best to cut off all the overhanging branches with a bow saw, this leaves the trunk intact and standing tall. tie a rope around the top of the trunk and start to dig around the base of the stump. cut trough as much of the large roots as possible below the normal soil level. then using the rope use the trees weight as leverage to topple it in a safe direction. if you cut the trunk too short you loose the natural weight of the tree and it will be more difficult to topple it.

    try http://www.setantalandscapes.com/Home/Home_Page/index.html

the important thing here is the level of insurance they carry in case something goes wrong so you should ask for details and sight thereof.

What ever you do dont employ an entity with a mobile fone /van only.

Cost difficult to estimate: you could be asked to pay 700 euro
