Playing big pair passive/weak to induce a bluff...

This is something ive brought into to my game to get value from my big pairs against a loose aggresive opponent....

Ok, ive been at the table for about 150 hands with villain. Ive been playing very aggresively, raising a lot from the cut off and button, stealing lots of pots etc etc.....
    My af is 2.7

    Villains stats:

    VPIP: 27%
    Pre flop raise % : 16%
    Post flop aggr factor: 2.25

    Hand:

After he calls my raise, i decided to play the hand passively to mask the strength of my hand - i knew the villain would bet into me ragardless of what he has.....
I let the timer run down to the end on the flop and turn

Paddy Power "TURBO" Maliq 1/2, hand converted by the iPoker Converter at Talking-Poker

    saw flop | saw showdown

    Button rockydelta ($45.15)
    SB Rakesalot ($255)
    BB Hero ($375.67)
    UTG KanoNapat ($359.25)
    UTG+1 showitall ($114.90)

Preflop: Hero is in the BB with Qdiamond.gif Qspade.gif
KanoNapat raises to 8, 3 folds, Hero raises to 23, KanoNapat calls 17.

    Flop (51) 5club.gif Theart.gif 2club.gif
Hero checks, KanoNapat bets 28, Hero calls 28.

    Turn (107) 8spade.gif
Hero checks, KanoNapat bets 64, Hero calls 64.

    River (235) 9diamond.gif
    Hero checks

Whats your move depending on villains action?

You dont know where you are in the had tbh.

I would raise that flop definately with the flushdraw.

The turn then puts another draw on the board. I would raise the turn if i dint raise the flop.

What have you the villian on? Has he 2/3 barelled before?

i have the villain on air - any 2 face cards, yes he has 3 barreled before with air

    like a J and a Q
Depending on his bet i'd fold or call. If you raise he can only call if you are beat. nothing to gain.

if you think he has air, will he bet the river?

I dont like like the way the hand was played so i may call a relitively small bet, never raise.

yes he would bet the river with air - he has done it a lot..... i was never considering raising the river, so scrap that idea...... the flush draw has also missed, so he may be putting me on that and try to take it away from me

not something i do very often, maybe done it 3 times - just felt it was a good play against this villain

you said you've been playing very aggressively, so why play a premium hand passively?

as played i call depending on bet size

if done very occasionally I can see some value in this it may also make someone slow down when you have a more marginal hand that you want to get to showdown with cheap

because when the villain has had a hand he has put in a pot size continuation bet, on this hand he bets about half the pot - so as i said, im putting him on air...... so im happy playing it passively and just calling and getting him to put in a bluff on the turn and the river

Given your image you should def be betting the flop. As played I like bet/folding the river or calling since you checked

I think you played it very well. Not a standard line, but good sometimes. Once I check the river im calling any bet.

Im happy with my line in this hand against this villain - as i said, its not a play i will use very often, but if i think there is value in it, im not afraid to use it.
Suppose you could call it a high risk play though

It's an interesting way to play it and I've been thinking I need to incorporate this into my game too but it's risky.

As the hand played out there's nothing to think about on the river - based on how you've played it you cannot fold to any bet. Raising would also be terrible.

it depends totally on the texture of the flop you cant jsut say the next time i get a big PP ill do it, it just fits in sometimes for deception.value purposes.
